You'll need a passport to get back into the US after surgery. I'm in Canada so have no idea of the cost - call your local passport office.

When is your surgery?

Highest 303.4, Surgery 263, Current 217.8, Goal 180

About $200. They say they will let you cross back into the us with proof you have applied for a passport.

For one the US will not deny you entry into the US if you have your birth certificate and ID with you if you do not have a passport but it will take additional time. Now for the cost  If you want it in 4-6 weeks  it is $115  for the book and $35 for the card. If you never had a passport it is an additional $25.00 processing fee. These are two seperate fees so if you make out money orders you will need two.  IF you want to expedite the process for 2-3 weeks it cost $170 for the passport book and $90 for the card with the same $25.00 addtional fee. You will need to have your passport photo taken. I advise you go to CVS are somewhere to have it taken for like $9.00 because they can charge anywhere from $10-15.00 at the post office. Some locations make you schedule appointments, and VERY FEW do walk-ins. Hope that helps. I only know because I need to get mines. I have entered Mexico without a passport and came back so don't let that worry you. I am getting a passport thistime around because I do not want no addtional inspections after having major surgery done. Good luck to you
