Hi, I am considering the surgery through Dr. Almanza. DId you have the band the sleeve or the bypass? Now that a few weeks have passed how do you feel? Where will you go to have a fill done because a lot of surgeons will not do a fill for people they have not done the surgery on? Please help I am contemplating getting the surgery done asap.

Hello,

I had the Vertical Sleeve Gastrectonmy done one May 31st so i don't have to get fills.  I flew into San Deigo, CA the day before and caught the hotel shuttle to the airport the next morning and then Dr. Almanza's hopsital Jerusalem Hospital picked us up there at 9.

It was 8 of us having the surgery that day.  They talked with us and told us what to expect,  We got prepped and they called us to the OR one by one.  I was very pleased with how theings went.  The hospital is small and it is in a strip mall.  BUT, they are very professional and things were done safely and cleanly.

They do send you home with stitches in your laproscopic sites, but i went to my primary care physican and had them taken out.  I also went to a Bariactric doctor when i got home and let him check me out.  I took him the X-ray that they do after you have the Sleeve in Mexico and my doctor was very pleased.  I told him what they did and he said that is exactly how he does the sleeve.

I am doing well.  I have lost 31 pounds including the pre-op time.  I am 3 weeks post op and i have been at a stall for about a week.  I am walking and looking forward to losing this weight.

I had a good experience.  I would go to Mexico again if i had to.  I have NO COMPLAINTS!!!

Please email me again.  If you want to ask anymore questions.  I will tell you the truth.
This is it!!!

Hello...

I am considering having the Vertical Sleeve Gastrectomy w/Dr. Almanza.  To be honest I have read some really scary reviews.  I am wondering how your weightloss journey is going and now that you are a few months out, do you have any regrets? Tips? Have you had any complications?  Please reply asap and let me know!

Thank you :)
