Phones/laptops in Mexico

Perhaps a stupid question but would I need an adapter or something to have my phone and laptop work in Mexico? If I do make the decision to go, my mom runs her own business and wants to know if she's going to be out of commission, workwise, for a few days or not.

Thanks for any info.

My smartphone could use the wireless in hospital and hotel but I could not get cellular service.  Electrical outlets were same as in Canada/USA.  Depends on her service contract with cellular company. Laptops shouldn't be a problem with wireless connectivity.

The power connections are the same as the US. They have WIFI in the hospital so I was able to send and get emails the only problem was the cell service but I used Trish cell phone. It turnes out she had already called my family to let them know I was fine and out of suigery. What a wonderfrul lady. You can even skype your family just to put themat ease.

God bless...

I used my phone and laptop with no problems. Just asked a head of time if they have wifi.
