How much did you pay? With which doctor?

I'm scheduled on Monday with Dr. Ortiz in TJ. I'm paying $8000 for the sleeve.

I'd like to know how much everyone else paid and to whom because my 25 year old daughter would like to get the sleeve. (after she sees what happens to her mom LOL) and she does not have a lot of money. I'm just looking at options other than my choice.

I have seen prices from 4500 to a little over 10,000 for Mexico.

I paid $5000 with Dr Ramos Kelly in February. I believe its around $5500 now. I chose him because he had excellent reviews and I also had a limited budget and didn't want a loan. I'm glad I chose him because he is a very good surgeon and the hospital was very clean and staff was great, its not cheap service at all. Good luck to you and your daughter.

I paid 5300.00 with Ramos Kelly on 7/13.. actually I paid a little more because I was a revision from band but that was the price for the sleeve..

I paid $10,000 with Dr Joya in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. The price included 3 nights in hotel (1 pre-op, 2 post-op), 2 nights in hospital, surgery and flight.

I was so happy with Dr Joya and would do it again in.......well, 10 years ago...lol!

Wow!  That is a high price.  You can have surgery in a full hospital for less than that.  My sister paid $5500 for Dr. Kelly at a very nice large hospital.

 If I'm not mistaken Joya is air travel included, its a total package. He is the only one I know that offers that. Other prices are generally for the operation only. So all that factors in.

My sleeve procdeure cost me 5300 with Dr. Kelly plus airfare to San Diego.

I made a mini vacation out of it and went to San Diego a couple days ahead of my surgery to see San Diego Zoo, the ocean, Old San Diego, etc.  All in all I paid around 6000 for two days in San Diego, the procedure whi*****luded two nights in the hospital and two nights in a hotel in Mexico afterwards (I upgraded to Lucerna Hotel).  Obviously it would have been cheaper if I didn't stay the two days in Sand Diego first!

For me I wanted the very best I could have.  That was Dr. Aceves in Mexicali, Mexico and the fee was $8,750 and that was 4 days of recovery in a FULLY equipped Hospital.  I did a lot of research before I picked him. That included the night before an a excellent Hotel and being picked up in San Diego and taken to Mexicali and being returned to the airport in San Diego.  I saw 2 doctors 3 times a DAY when I was in the hospital.  That also included all my tests before and after surgery.  He does a leak test 3 times before he would consider sending you home.

Cost with Dr. Jaime Ponce de Leon is $6,900 and that includes surgery, hospital, guesthouse and all ground tranportation (to and from San Diego).  The surgeon is great, the hospital (INT Hospital) is clean and the nursing staff fantastic.  That also includes an English speaking patient advocate.  I am going on September 9-12 and would be glad to have your daughter join our group.  I had a revision (my band removed) and the sleeve done in late May and have lost over 30 lbs.  I had already lost 60-plus pounds with the band.  I'm very pleased with my personal experience with this group of doctors.
