can you get medical leave at work for surgery in Mexico?

Maybe a stupid question - btu if you hav your surgery done in mexcio can you get all the paperwork necessary to submit to your HR dept for medical leave?

When I had lap band surgery in July 2007 from Dr Aceves, I  was able to get paperwork from him & my employer took it. I was able to take 3 weeks off with pay!

I hope to get VSG with Dr Kelly in October or so, hopefully he can give me a note also.

Yes, you can take short term disability if a doctor has you on medical leave. doesn't matter if he is in mexico or not.

One of my co-workers received medical leave for having treatments done in Mexico.  I didn't use it as I just used vacation time and went back to work 6 days after surgery.
