parnoia taking over
I have convinced myself since scheduling that there is nothing to be scare of, everything will be fine. Every time I tell someone where I am going they express worry and fear for me and it's starting to get to me. They are not being mean or rude, just caring and concerned. Now I am starting to get paranoid. What if I get to San Diego and nobody shows up to pick me up @ the airport? what if this is all an elaborate scam? I KNOW that I am being stupid.. but wow.. help!!!
it is definately not a scam, having been there done that and got the sleeve. If you get to the airport and no one is there to meet you, they are likely stuck in traffic and you call your coordinator and confirm that with her.
Don't let well meaning folks who don't even know what they are talking about make you fearful and worried. You are going to do just fine and will love your WLS.
take care,
Holly

I know exactly how you feel. I am scheduled for Cancun on Feb 4th. Yesterday morning I woke up in a sweat thinking this whole thing could be a big scam. I went as far as calling the Canadian Consulate in Cancun and they were pretty good. They made a good suggestion and that is to register my travel plans with them. I feel a little better today but probably won't sleep a full night through until this is all over.
My feeling is that if this whole thing was a scam, it would be all over the internet by now. People would be complaining and shouting it to the world. I would.
Take care and good luck.
