Dr Aceves Experiences
Vsg is a great surgery if you only need restriction. Your bmi is kind of in the middle. Look at how you eat and think of if you can eat smaller portions and a lower fat diet. If that is you, good luck! You made a great choice and I've heard great things about Aceves, he actually works with my surgeon too. Can't wait to see your update posts.
My husband and I both had a VSG done with Aceves (see my profile). The VSG is awesome (much, much better than a lap-band & more successful). You will not regret it. We received excellent care with Dr. Aceves, his staff, & the hospital. You will meet other WLS patients when Ernesto picks you up at the airport. We made great friends with a girl from British Columbia who had never flown before! She also had a VSG done. I was walking down to her room within a few hours of my surgery. My daughter came with us, but there was really no need since we received exemplary care. All of Dr. Aceves staff speaks great English. Don't be nervous. This will be the best decision you have ever made! Good luck to you!
I went alone and I loved being there. Dr. Aceves and all his staff are awesome. I wish I could go back just to visit.
Living with the sleeve is pretty effortless, as long as you can stay away from candy and other sweets.
When I eat what I am supposed to, I get full on small portions. But I can eat a lot of chocolate and gain weight from it easily. I am a chocoholic and I know it. If I eat one piece, there is no stopping me!

VSG is fantastic! Best way to lose weight, safest surgery long term.
I don't think anyone can beat his stats, but research for yourself and see what you think.
i went to Aceves for both my surgeries, band and revision to sleeve. i am over 2 years post op with my sleeve and I can still only eat about 3 oz of dense protein. He does make very small sleeves, you might have to eat 4 meals daily.

The band got me to goal, the sleeve will keep me there.
