Pre-Op Diets Stink!!!
I have started my pre-op diet early, and was doing WONDERFUL at first, but now I'm starting to get sick of the same protein shakes every day. Any suggestions as to how I could change it up a little??? Right now I'm just doing 2 protein shakes a day, and the rest low carb, high protein, no sugar, etc.
First off thats great you are starting it early. I did the same thing and the surgeon said he could tell as my liver was in wonderful shape. Right now for your protein shakes try to jazz them up a bit. I bought Da Vinci's sugar free syrup to put in my shakes and it made a ton of difference in the taste. I ordered mine off Amazon but you may be able to find them in your grocery store or another brand. Good Luck!!
try to stay with anything that is Protein.... even whole foods/slices of chicken/cheddar cheese/eggs/cottage cheese.... (as if you're on the post surgery diet after mushies for the next week.. then depending on how long your doc wants you on a liquid diet start that closer to your surgery date.... the protein will keep your muscle and you'll have variety... if you need a "treat" go for sugarfree jello or a skinny latte from starbucks.... hope that helps... once you're on the other side... a bite satifies becuase your stomach is so small... good luck
