Why I have time to write about my momma's story about Dr. Almanza

As most of you know, my mom is in the ICU on a ventilator right now.. Visiting hours are around 9-10 AM, 1-2PM, 4-5PM, and 8-9PM. On the second day that my mom was in the ICU, my aunt, me, my little sister, and my dad were in the room. We were talking to her, even though we didn't know IF she could hear us or anything. My mom woke up and this machine started beeping, her eyes were yellow (her eyes were wide open for brief seconds here and there) because of all the medicine that she's now on.. Her hands are tied down to something and she was trying to lift her hands, she seemed to try to talk to us. A few nurses came in and told us to leave the room for a second because they had to give her more of what was making her stay asleep. They informed my dad that kids aren't allowed around all the time anymore, because we might "excite" her. HOWEVER, I am visiting her, just not every visiting hour, due to not being allowed to see her every visiting hour. When I do go visit her, I visit her at the 4 O'clock and/or the 8 O'clock. In the meantime, I still have time to clean the house, visit with my friends, AND manage to post up these stories so that I can let you guys here a negative story about this hospital / "clinic", to help try to turn your decision onto another doctor, but still be able to make your own decisions. Once again, I support everyone's decisions, whether it be going to this hospital, deciding whether or not to go, already went, etc. I'm here for you guys.

This is my opinion, and I'm not posting anything further after this.....

I understand you want to get your mother's story out there to "warn" people about this doctor/clinic, which I think we all can agree, you have done. So how is fighting with everyone on here helping your situation at all? Do you not feel your mission has been accomplished yet? Focus on your mother getting well, not arguing with people on here. Just my advice.

Sfasogbon....

I have a hunch that this young lady is going to continue posting as long as her mom is in a coma while in ICU. This nonsense about complications being 1% is just that, nonsense. We can prove it is farrr higher than that just with the people that are posting. Keep in mind, the majority of people having WLS do not post at all, so just for those posting it is bloody clear that complications coming from that clinic are drastically higher than 1% as they claim.

It isn't up to you to dictate what or when the young lady posts. If you don't want to hear the truth, block her. It is that easy. It is up to the OP to determine what and when she posts.

Are we in agreement on this point?

it isn't a matter of coaching, it is an issue of truth.  Some of us accept truth, some do not.  It's a choice.

She certainly is a great mentor. It's just too bad that money for some people has to be the deciding factor. I'm betting there are people here that if they were in a better financial position, then they would not give this surgeon a second thought.

for me it was who has done this so many times that I have confidence in his timing to minimize surgery time... I went to two Centers of Excellence here in the northeast... both surgeons were pros at lap band and RNY... (insurance coverage)... when I asked how many DS and VSG's they performed both said they never did it... while I work in the pharmaceutical industry and work with clinical trials around the world my comfort zone with international doctors is different. being comfortable with one's decision is the most important... keep in mind the US with the FDA is usually years behind approvals for medical devices /drugs and medical procedures..... Switzerland/France and other countries are on the cutting edge....

Hi sfasogbon!

Don't waste your time.  This is what they want.  They want you to respond and get a rise out of you.  We just ignore them and let them talk to themselves.  Pumpkin even says "I enjoy the game".  So there you have it.  From what I understand you can contact FWlizzie and she can help you join the "Drama free" board.  Let me know if you need help getting in contact with her.
