Dr. Miguel A. Zapata
Hi all,
I'm recovering from VSG last week. Haven't been here for ages. No time when I'm "well." I'm Ellisa on other boards just so no one thinks I'm trying to be sneaky. LOL
Anyway... why I'm on THIS post at THIS hour...who knows... bored; up most nights; pain meds don't give me the blissful sleep but rather keep me up....whatever. No I shouldn't still be on pain meds from my VSG, and I'm not... I'm having a leetle complication from an unrelated prior surgery at the moment. I'll be happy to PM ya with the details if you are interested. LOL
Anyhoo, I didn't go to Mexico though I'm sure it's a lovely place, my insurance doesn't work there. I will be looking when I get around to plastics. So I don't have any agenda or opinion on US vs. Mexico or even Mexican Dr. A vs. Mexican Dr.B.
So what am I doing here??? Oh yeah, my doc has over 300 VSG under his belt and I'm sure many thousands of lapbands and GBSs.... but you know what? He had his first 1 - 100. I think they all do, don't they? I haven't heard anyone mention that he killed or maimed his first 100 patients of any of these procedures. He was properly trained in each procedure before going solo. I don't know exactly how I would have gone about checking all that out if I had been patient number one for this procedure, but I don't think I would have felt in any danger with him since he'd been doing similar surgeries for so long.
Just a little morning thought... before my morning caffeine.
