Which doctor for DS

I am trying to decide which doctor to use for revision from band to DS.  I want to have lap DS and have my band taken out since it is broken and I wish I had DS to start with.  I am looking at Dr. Joya.  I finally have the money for it.  If I'm not wrong it should run about 12,000.  I really don't want open surgery but I will if I have no other choice.  Any info on this would be great.

No, not Joya, not for DS. Ungson is the ONLY surgeon I would even consider going to for DS at this point. I wasn't even aware Joya did DS.

This surgery, you are talking a tricky procedure and not just any surgeon can do this. Ungson and only Ungson. Another doc is about to announce DS but he's not doing so yet, until that time Ungson and only Ungson.

Midwesterngirl is right on the money. Check out the profile for CNECLEVENGER. She just went to Ungson last month I think. She can give you all the details of her DS surgery including price!

Thanks, yes. You should check dsfacts.com to see the list of ds surgeons. This list is of 'experienced' surgeons. They have to do a certain amount to be on the list. Ungson is the ONLY Mexican surgeon on the list. I am very very happy with my surgery, even though I am a virgin dser. It was top notch the whole way. Let me know if you need anything.

He does both but charges 3000 more for lap bc you can't return the equipment. So obviously most people choose open. Also, there is no guarantee it will stay lap. Personally, I feel open is easier, you can see more, to me that means less chance of nicking something so I went with open. I sprang back quickly from it and honestly it didn't affect me like I expected. I know people say 6-8 weeks but I was good by the time I got home. I guess I"m lucky.
