1 Month Surgiversary with Almanza
So its one month later and what are the results so far?
Pounds lighter, slimmer, very small appetite and feeling better about myself.
Did not have any incision infections which was a miracle since I get infections from most cuts.
Had my stitches taken out on day ten and I think it was a few days to early. Although they all looked good and healing nicely, two of them opened up the day after. Now spending time landscaping and picking up rocks up to 50 pounds probably didn't help. Thank god for butterfly bandaids.
I sure know what it is like to feel full. Never knew that feeling before.
I eat so very little and still have all the energy I require. Hitting around 40 grams of protein daily at present. Some days I have to remind myself to eat.
So in a nutshell, so far so good.
Janet from the clinic has called me six times to check up on me but I am never around to get her call. I WILL call her this week!
I hope all my friends that had surgery that week are also doing well.
Sorry I'm not on OH as much but its spring time in the mountains and when you have an acreage... there's lots to do.
And for those of you that wondered why I did not reply to that thread that was started "calling me out" by you know who... well its not worth the aggravation. Most of you know what I'm talking about.
And Flame... I just read your email about the pasta... so sorry for not replying. I'm not like that so if its still available, pm me and give me a address and I will send you some $$. Bad me!
OK.. bye for now and hope to read up on all that had surgery that week.
Liz... get the ball rolling!!

Hey terry, thanks for the post. Im so happy everything is going great for you and your wife is probably super happy with all the landscaping your doing. Your right its not worth the battle with other people. Life is to short to spend it fighting or being upset or sad. Im really motivated by your post. I cant wait for my surgery next month. My hubs is home until tomorrow night so hes going to call you tomorrow if thats alright. Big hugs to you and your wife. You both are great even though I havent met you I feel like I know you!
Thank you and as I stated before... if you need info just ask.
Ya see, most people call it a successful operation once they get home.
As I stated a few weeks ago... I will comment on that after 3 or 4 months. That's when I will feel good about it all. My weight will have nothing to do with my decision. Its my health that will be the determining factor.
Blew me away that my sutures opened up (a few) but I caused that.
I could blame it on the doc... but I know I caused them.
Some times people just look for others to blame.
So as I said... all is good.Never... and I mean never did I think I would drop over 40 pounds the first 4 weeks.
And I have had pizza... yes pizza! A two inch square and I was full.
I think that will be the secret... you will be able to eat what ever you want... but only small small portions.
Now... to look for my evening pudding.
and... by the way... you know the sugar free popsicles in the recovery house...
can anyone PROVE to me that they were sugar free...?
Betcha they weren't.
PS... Kath and I will be going to Post Falls in about 10 - 14 days. (Its about a 7 hour drive for us) I bought a trailer and we are going to pick it up as soon as its built. We stay at the HI Express usually. If you want to meet up... Kath and I would love to buy you both dinner. Cant give a firm date yet.. but soon. just let us know.

Hi!
Glad to read you're doing so well! Good for you!
On the pasta, I do have a package left for you to try. Sorry, but I won't take any money for it -- I'm happy to send it to you, just like that, STA.
Just PM your address to me and I'll send it off in the next couple of days.
Take care,
Cheryl
