i'm pretty sure that she was talking about donemytime.  She must have thought my post was to her instead of you because donemytime is Michelle aka Midwesterngirl.  It confused me at first too because I thought she was talking about you.

Sorry I was talking about donemytime, not you.  As for the rest, if you truly want me to answer some questions or talk to me, you can call me on my toll free number.  I'm not going to continue this name calling type of banter here.  I'm sure others are SICK of it!

I am pretty sure that others are sick of it.
I am sick of it myself.
I will take you up on that and I will in fact give you a call.
Would love to hear what you have to say on all of this.
I am going to call Dr. B as well as I want to know what he is going to do for this family.
The only way people are going to start having faith in you all again is if you start doing the right thing.
I am not sure what the right thing in this matter would be but maybe someone from your organization needs to figure that out.
I would think that the first thing that needs to be done is stop passing the buck with regards to responsibiltiy.
Maybe what happend couldnt have been avoided in the operating room.
What could have been avoided is the treatment afterwards. Thats the part that I take issue with. Its deplorable.
Like we are all just fat spoiled rich americans and canadians and somehow we got what we paid for and its not your guys fault it just went bad and oh well. Get out of here go home???
I mean really???
OK so here I go again...
Sorry I am truly Furious at the whole mess.

Speaking for myself only, I can say that I'm not sick of it. Controversy or not, I wish all of the doctors had this much information being posted about them and their practices. We are in the unique position (even if it sucks that we're self-pay) of being able to choose from an entire country's offering of surgeons. Had our insurance paid, we'd have to stay within their coverage area and use their chosen surgeons.

Nobody talks about my surgeon. I am going to him based on the few reviews I've read and my comfort level after having spoken with him on the phone.

At least those considering Dr. Almanza have the chance to make a truly informed decision.

I decided against him before the really bad reviews came out. He just didn't have the experience I was looking for (and I'm talking about years of experience, not number of surgeries). But, now that I get to read what's being said by people who had him as a surgeon, I'm sure as HELL not using him.

Given that this is the number one website for people seeking WLS, I think it might be in Dr. Almanza's best interest to have his coordinators answer these claims rather than swearing that they never happened or that infections are acceptable just because other surgeons have had infections. Even if a complication is beyond a surgeon's control, I want to see some compassion for those who had bad experiences.

When I first came here, I read a few reports of bad experiences and I read other people absolutely FLAMING the people who had bad experiences. Horrible bashing just for speaking up. Now what I'm seeing are the people who had bad experiences fighting back and saying they won't be bashed for speaking up. And now, the people who bashed those who spoke up in the first place are playing the victim.

I don't have a dog in this fight, really. I'm just an observer. But, I really do think that those who speak so highly of Almanza need to just accept that not everyone feels so warm and fuzzy about him and they have that right. They also have the right to warn others. We're spending thousands and thousands of dollars AND risking our lives for this surgery. These petty attempts to silence people on these boards, no matter what opinion they carry, are absolutely selfish. We deserve full disclosure. And if these Mexican surgeons want to keep getting our money, they better offer full disclosure. Because I'll tell you what, Dr. Almanza's reputation is turning to sh*t pretty fast and the tactics his supporters are using sure aren't helping him. Not even a little bit.

Thank you Kimberly & Sandy. It's so weird that someone would go to all that effort for such negativity.

Whew!
Well thats good to hear.
I actually had surgery there and I was lucky that I came out safely.
Some were not.
This place should be shut down and I dont care who I **** off for saying it. People need to wake up!!

I do believe stoongirl.  she is a real person and I believe her friend had complications.  because of that the place should be shut down?!  I guess they better shut everybody down then right?  I met a girl at a support group that had the same kind of complications that stoongirls friend had.  she had her surgery in the united states.  she was sick for a very long time too.  I guess the hospital in dallas where she had her surgery should be shut down too!  I think we need to pray for the sick lady and be supportive!

They should be shut down for allowing a woman that they almost killed who was still gravely ill and in need of medical attention to get on the plane and go home.
She could have died you idiot!

Ishary,
I have politely asked you three times now and have not received an answer. How would you have suggested they MADE her stay? Isn't that kidnapping? Holding against you will?

PPl are up in arms on another post about Dr. Joya refusing to allow a pt to leave before she paid for her complications.  Isn't what Dr. Joya did what you think is the right thing to do? REFUSING to let them go?

Please help me out here. I am sure I am not the only one confused...
