Dr. Almanza's Patients - Non-surgical question for you!

Hey guys,

This is a little off topic, so please bare with me here. I have a dentist appointment the day after my lap band surgery with Dr. Almanza. I have it tentatively scheduled because I need to know 2 things:

1.) When they took you for your x-ray/barium swallows, do any of you remember what time that was? Or at least what part of the day?

2.) Also, I need to set up transportation to the dentist. Do you think one of the drivers would be willing to take me or do you think I should find outside transportation?

Like I said, it's off topic but I was just wondering. I mean really, if I am going to have my revisional surgery, I may as well get my teeth laser whitened for half the money too right?

I had my swallow test first thing in the morning but I also saw some go around noon.

I'm not sure if you are using one of their colleagues but when I was there, there were a couple of people going to the dentist and believe the driver was taken them.

Good luck to you!

I made it home yesterday, picked up the kids and drove to Grandmas!

It has been such an easy recovery, went back to work today and I feel great!

You will love everyone there!

I'm almost positive that the driver will take you to the dentist appointment, but you may want to ask your coordinator first.
I had my leak test done in the late afternoon.

If you don't mind me making a suggestion, I highly recommend having your teeth whitened AFTER you drink the blue yucky stuff. Even the next day if possible. The blue dye really does dye your teeth blue as well. I brushed & scrubbed my teeth trying to get it off, but no luck! I don't think the dye came off until several hours later. I would hate for you to spend $$$ on getting your teeth whitened and then have them turn blue.

Congratulations on your upcoming surgery. You will absolutely be satisfied!

XOXOXO,
Christi

How much are you paying for laser whitening?
Are you having any other dental work done?
I would think it would be best to go for dental work after your leak test.
I know when we went for our leak test we waited for hours!!
Maybe they would let you schedule it for the following day and for sure the driver would take you.
Good Luck!

Laser Whitening is only $195.00 and I am also getting a regular cleaning prior to getting that. The cleaning is running me $35.00.  I figured I would go and have my barium swallow early in the moning, then try to get the blue junk off of my teeth and then go for my laser whitening. I'm not going to be in Mexico long as I am only getting a band. Hopefully it will be a quick recovery, but I am a revision patient (I had a gastric bypass at the age of 17 in 2000, too immature to understand what I was doing) and now I'm getting a band over the bypass. I figured that I had an open RNY so a laproscopic procedure should be a piece of cake in comparison. I'm excited for my surgery and my new pearly white smile to go with it!

Hey, I have not had surgery yet and this may sound weird but can't you suck the stuff through a straw?  then you won't touch your teeth right???  Do you have a test with the band???  Just wondering.
