All I can say is that you are not helping by bashing Doctors. I called my coordinator and was told that all this is a result from letting a coordinator they no longer want to endorse.I would suggest that you let us as adults make the decision to who we want to go to without all this poisonous comments.
I almost cancelled my surgery due to fears of everything you said but now that I see this is continuing to come from the same people....YOU have lost all credibiltiy...so for that I thank you, I feel so much better with my decision now.
Your coordinator lied to you. The coordinators that left recently all quit and because they are speaking up about what they know the unlicensed clinic in TJ and their current coordinators are telling you anything you want to hear.
But you know, it really doesn't matter. You will choose what you want to believe if it will justify the cheap surgery. Do you have any idea how many infections, leaks, and assorted complications have come out of MISTER Betancourts unlicensed clinic just in the last few months? You can blame it on anyone you wish but just remember, we didn't cause those infections, leaks, perforations, and such. Your doctor did.
Have you noticed that we have asked Sandy repeatedly if she still stands behind her claims that the unlicensed clinic is a licensed hospital? That Almanza is board certified? That Betancourt is a licensed MD? He isn't even a high school grad. ;o) Did you notice that when someone else posted that she thought it was time someone notified the Attorney General's office about Sandy Johnston she pretty much quit posting? And no, she's apparently not standing behind her recent claims including no infections. She lied.
We have already demonstrated that she lied, why she lied is pretty easy. She wants her thousand dollar cut from your surgery. $$... speaks loud and clear it would appear. Certainly louder than truth.
Just remember, the proof is there. You choose to go to this clinic in a Costco strip mall. I would honestly and sincerely hate to see you suffer a complication like so many others but if you do come home with an infection, leak, or whatever... you *are* going into this with eyes wide open.
Good luck to you! I hope you have a fantastic surgery and much success.
Just read the post from Uknowho
Liz... just let it go
You cant win with her.
I took a few hours and read alot of her posts.
Although I am blocked by her... I have to say most are very good and informative UNTIL it comes to Jerusalem Clinic, Almanza, Bentacourt and Aceves. Then all hell breaks loose.
She has a bone up her butt when it comes to that subject and wont let it go.
Good luck with your surgery!
and the bonus is... after surgery you can go to Costco!
and no... MWG... I'm not looking for a comment from you.... but I know I will get one.
Let me assist you... Bigisbad... crawl back under your Rock!

Not sure what happened to me....but here it is AGAIN.....
Having just returned on Feb 1st with my sister having a sleeve with Dr Almanza, I have to say that the experience (with me being able to observe the whole 4-5 days) also mirrors Boscogirl and Hollykim's.
My hubby is scheduled for mid May, and he was there last summer with me. Now being a typical male (and a serious medical sissy to boot) he did not see anything that made him the least bit uncomfortable. Not only in the actual time there at the clinic, or during my recovery or when my sister and I came back and he talked to her. He has in fact since scheduled his sleeve.
With the exception of PeanutfreeMom, ALL of the other posters seem to be cheerleaders for Dr Aceves, which to be honest, is ok with me. I had him on my short list as he is an excellent surgeon. A friend went to him in December and was thrilled. However, when she and I compared notes and experiences, there just wasn't $4000 worth of "better surgical ability" nor was there anything more to warrant nearly doubling the price ....all in my opinion of course. She felt more comfortable with the hospital setting, and I applaud her for finding the right doctor for her. But MAYBE for the rest of us, that would not have been possible. SO, we made our own choices.
It just seems that the Aceves patients really need to "KEEP US ALL INFORMED" Really??? You can google or search pretty much any of these sites and get any of this information anytime, and yet it seems there are "do-gooders" out there "trying to protect us." Really??? I appreciate the information being put out there once, but after that it seems there is in fact some type of agenda.
So, for all the Aceves patients....we get it...YOU would NEVER go anywhere but to Aceves and be in a hospital.....blah...blah....blah... Great, you have made your point. To the others who may be contemplating going somewhere else, even if it is Dr Almanza, please get in touch with one of the many, many happy patients of his.
As for Betancourt.again, I do appreciate this being brought to light, and I am sure somehow we will eventually find out the truth, whatever that might be. Personally, it isn't a real sticking point. I only saw him briefly when he removed my drain. Many times that is done here in the US by someone other than the surgeon. My sister also only saw him for this 5 minutes of drain removal.
I DO AGREE that if in fact he is NOT a doctor with a current license, he should not be parading around as though he is. I also agree that once we know the truth, one way or another, that information should be put out there. HOWEVER, I still do not think it changes whether or not Dr Almanza is anything other than qualified, caring, conscientious surgeon who gives nothing but the best to his patients. The care both she and I received from Dr. Almanza was great.
If this style of clinic vs hospital is not for you...that's ok. Take your $9000 and go somewhere else. But for many others who might not otherwise be able to afford weight loss surgery, some of these tactics do seem to have a bit of overkill. He did 4 sleeves on each of the two days we were there.
The opinions of many have been shared. I want everyone to be safe, but I believe that they have been given the same information over and over and perhaps we should just let them decide. Generally if people want MORE information, they will find it on their own without being spoon fed by a few posters
as well as a few that have NEVER been there! To say that because we did not choose your surgeon that we are putting our lives at risk, is not only absurd but irresponsible. Having had 5 c-sections and more recently my gall bladder removed, several times I have had some of the stitches or staples get infected. That is with having several surgeons, and in different hospitals here in the US. By the way, my friend who went to Aceves also had one of her incisions get infected too. It cleared up quickly after applying topical antibiotic and some butterfly sutures on it's own.
Let's all calm down and help each other, encourage each other and let people decide for themselves.
Good luck to you all.

That’s IMPOSSIBLE! I thought Aceves has never had a complication, insinuation, drama, negative report or anyone that wasn’t completely ecstatic. What else am I forgetting?
