Going home with sutures

For those of us that had surgery in Mexico.....How did you do with taking out you stitches? Did you open up at all and if so what did you do about it?

I'm not post-op yet, but I've taken out my own stitches before.  There's really nothing to it and if you leave them in as long as they're supposed to stay in, you don't have to worry about the wound opening.

When it's time to take them out, just use a small, clean pair of scissors to snip each stitch.  The, use tweezers to grab the stitch by the knot and pull it out.  I think it's best to do it right after a shower, because then anything holding onto the thread will be softened or washed away completely.

I just went to my family doctor and he took them out...after about 10 to 15 days.  You'll know when it's time.

My sutures are all dissolvable - nothing to remove.
