Post-Op (in the US) prep

Dr Almanza sends you home with antibiotics and pain killers. From what I could tell, the pain killers were weak but I didn't have a lot of pain anyway so I never used them. You might want to have your pcp take out your stitches but a lot of people do it themselves. I had my pcp remove mine. I'd also ask her about some kind of acid blocker/reducer or you can get something over the counter. It's helped me a lot.

Thanks for the advice.  Did you go in 10 days after surgery for her to take out the stitches? I have an appointment set up with her but because she'll be out of town on the 10th day of my post-op, my appointment is 7 days out instead but I figured I would change it if I absolutely cannot do it that early.  I just wanted to know I had something set up in case I needed/wanted to see her.

She took mine out on the 11th because the 10th day was on a Sunday. I would say 7 days would be to early but I guess she can look at them and decide.

I'll probably end up rescheduling.  My surgery is the 13th and my appointment is set for the 20th and she will apparently be out of town until at least the 26th.  I suppose later is better than too early.  Does Dr. Almanza give a lot of post-op instructions?
