Did you go on your own to Mexico?

I'm seriously considering having VSG in Mexico but I can't get anyone to accompany me. I'm worried about going alone.  I'd love to hear what other OH members' experiences have been. Thanks!

Yep, I arrived home yesterday from Tijuana after having a VSG last Tuesday.  Dr. Almanza and his staff are amazing. 

The worst parts were the gas (walk, walk, walk) and the nine hour flight home.

Don't worry about going alone, not one time did I feel unsafe in any manner.  When it's time for plastics, I won't be taking any one for that either.

Congrats on your VSG! Well done! I think I'm going to be fine too. I've had two difficult natural child births plus major surgery so my instinct says I will handle it. I only have a 2 hour flight home so it is looking good so far!

I've had two kids also, the VSG is a cakewalk in comparison.

Don't worry, you will be fine and they will take care of you.

I'm having the VSG done in Mexico, and I'm going alone, the doc told me about 50% of his patients go alone, so I'm hoping I'll be able to meet up with somebody while I'm there :)

I went to Mexicali on my own all the way from Canada - never did I feel unsafe.

The toughest part was the flight home - however, I could hardly wait to get home and see my daughter.

So fear not, if I can do it, anyone can do it alone!

I went to monterrey all alone and had no problems!!  I have also returned 4 times for plastic surgery all by myself!!
I love all of my surgeons....I am still in contact with them on a regular basis that is how much they care!!
