Deciding between Dr. Aceves and Dr. Ungson

I have found tons of info on Dr. Aceves, but nothing much on Dr. Ungson.  Does anyone out there have any experience with Dr. Ungson?  Dr. Ungson's website is not very user friendly, and I would like to hear from his former patients.

Dr. Ungson is a very highly regarded surgeon on the DS forums where many people have used him to complete their duodenal switch procedure. The DS is admittedly the most complicated of the three most common weight loss surgery and the VSG is actually the first step of the DS procedure. What surgery are you having?

I'm am trying to get contact information on him as well. I agree the website is not user friendly and the phone # is not working for U.S.

This is the # to call Dr. Ungson  medical office 011 52 662 217 5666. You can talk to Luz Sandoval his coordinator and also speaks good english.  I just spoke to her today about  the DS surgery. She gets your e-mail info. and can send more info. I tried using the contact  email but not user friendly  so I called directly.  The receiptionist  answers in spanish but ask for Luz.. I used  a 5 dollar international calling card and it gives you about an hour and some minutes and you dial all the numbers above to reach them.

pls ignore my post.  i have just tried calling those numbers and didn't get through.  I did get through using the number posted above, but alas the lady who answered spoke no English.  I'll try again in the morning, maybe I got the cleaning lady. hahaha

EDIT: I had a brain dead day yesterday and had been trying to call without using the country code for Mexico.  The website is fine.  sorry!

My ex-husband, GF husband and my 16 year old son have gone to Dr. Ungson. My son had the VSG and my ex had the DS.  As we were conservative with my son, he's lost about 80-100 pounds of the 180 he needed to lose. My ex has lost ALL his excess weight.

He's very nice. All the doctors in his group are great.  Luz is fabulous. She's American born and speaks perfect english.  The hospital is just the same as American hospitals if not better.  The wing you stay in is right by the baby nursery.  The hospital is private pay.  The hotel is a couple miles away, but the beds are rock hard and i'm not kidding.  Luz will drive you everywhere.  We walked to a small mall by the hospital and then over to Walmart.  Took a taxi to costco and a big grocery store.

The only issue is making contact with Dr. U's office.  I had a hard time also.

I'll take my daughter when she's ready and go back to Dr. Ungson.
