7 days after my gastric sleeve surgery
You would be much better off posting this on the VSG board. You can find it by clicking on Forums on the top of this page, scroll down to surgical procedures, then to vertical sleeve. I assure you that will get you many many responses.
Congrats on the start of this new life journey

Hi,
I had my gastric sleeve surgery on 4/22, so I guess you can say we are sleeve buddies!
I am still here in Monterrey and will be going home tomorrow. I wanted to stay a few extra days to do some sightseeing. Horsetail falls is gorgeous!!!
Anyway, my surgery went well and I couldn't be more pleased with the care I've been given while here. I had some slight shoulder pain from the laparoscopic gas they used, but it was only minor and was gone by the second day after surgery.
I'm still on the full liquid diet of course and am amazed that I am not hungry AT ALL!!! Oh what a feeling.
How are you doing? Who was your surgeon?
Dusty

Hi there.
Please share your post op experience thus far. I am scheduled for August 2009 with Dr. Kim in Dallas. I am nervous that I won't be able to enjoy certain foods any more - my intent for the surgery is for smaller portions. I have never eaten junk food, etc. But my family owns a restaurant and we often "taste" a lot - and enjoy cultural foods/holidays, etc. I hope to still be able to eat a (small portion) of homemade foods, bday cake with my children, etc.
Please share if the sleeve has prevented you from having a normal desire for good foods (salmon, grilled veggies, cereal, shrimp, etc) - just in smaller volumes...
Thank you.
