Well back in San Antonio from have gastric sleeve preformed by Dr. Alvarez.
I would recommend him to everyone. Very kind and gentle and classy to boot.
The hospital was ran like they use to before docs became blood thirsty for money.
The doc wore suits and the nurses wore white dresses. Very cool in my opinion.
If any body has questions about my trip or experience just email me and I will let
you know how it went.  So my surgery was on Tuesday and today is Thursday and I
already went on a shopping spree here in San Antonio  for like 6 hours walking now problem.
Well now I am on the losers bench and couldn't be happier. I praise God for the new
gift he provided for me. Just need to get on 3 more flights and we will be finally home.

I'm having surgery with Dr. Alvarez on April 28th.  Is there anything you can think of that you wished you had at the time that would have made things easier.  They say they have TV is it in English.  My husband is going with me and we are taking our laptop but I wondered about the TV.

How are you doing so far.  Anything you would like to share about your trip.  And advice?

Thanks

Penny

You know they are so wonderful down there.  It was so warm and nice so i was in tank tops for the weather. I wished I had taken more soup at hands for pre op. After surgery it is ice chips and when checked out you get Jello and something posing as grape juice. The hospital does smell like an older one. The DR is very profesional and nice to be around. I thnk I had over packed actaully you should of seen my suit case on the way back on the air plane. The 4th night you get to stay in San Antonio was when we went on a 6 hour shopping spree. Oh what fun we had. There will pry be 1 to 2 more people having the same operation as you are having. . at the same time.

So just follow what susan has or will send you for the trip. Rosy got there about 1pm to pick up. She does the run everyday. Dont forget you passport or birthcert and drivers license.

I feel great only had 1 day were I was really tired about 2 days ago but the day prior I was washing Jeep inside and out and all house chores. so i brought it on my self. The key to all of this is drink lots of clear liquids and walk daily. lil further each day and when it come to full liquids i bought protien drinks and yoguart drinks and breakfast start by carnation. all have good protien.  low fat low sugar and low carbs. I do drink vitamin water for extra vitamins. I take boitin for  hair and nails. I take b-12 because good for you and I take coq10 for heart health and body.
They will supply you with the meds for after surgery. The mix stuff doesnt taste the best make sure for afterwards you have something you can sip on  to wash away the taste. I do burp alot more than I ever have. I pee alot more than I use to I aways have a water bottle or gatorade with me. Your bowel movement will be quite different!!

So I brought a couple pair of yoga pants- bought from Walmart  and a couple pair of shorts and 5 tops and u/w of course sports bras no under wire....
even once you get back there is a small cut they make where the wire rubs and it hurts so. I am still wearing the soft sports bra. I am going to buy some Maderma for the scares. I can start using that on Tuesday and it should fade all my scares. I only have 5 small cuts. Which just added to all my stretch marks that i got from being prego. I am averaging 1 lbs a day loss.  Do bring socks and I brought some croc knock offs for slippers. I didnt need a robe wish I would have left it at home. I had an IV at night and never walked with it.

OK here is the list
comfy pant - stretchy
comfy short
t shirts
u/w
sport bras
tylenol liquid
soup at hands- tomatoe and broth ones
walking tennis shoes
crocs
socks
protein bullets

There are a couple of resturants across from the hospital.. pratice spanish if you can. They dont speak any english there. My friend whom came with me was about in tears because she couldnt understand anything they were saying and ended up with something that didnt appeal to her and no sour cream. Poor thing.

Oh and we bought a case of water at the walmart... which the shuttle can take you too. My friend drank almost all of it her self. So you wont be drinking much after till you leave hospital. Maybe if your husband doesnt drink much maybe just a 1/2 case and we shoved it all in our suit cases. .. lol... we smuggled water into mexico..lol.

Well I think thats about it.
If you havent ever been to San Antonio I recomend you take a cab to river walk and check out the alamo and all the fun atractions. I spent like 400.00 at all the shops. oooppps.
You are sure to have a good time and just relax. Great DR's and nurses.
Any other ?s just let me know
