cost of ds in mexico?

What is the average cost for the DS in mexico?

I'm having a revision done from stomach stapling to ds in Mexico for $16,000.00   You can probably get it cheaper if you are a virgin ds. Also lap vs. open makes a difference.  Lap is more.

Many folks say there is only one doctor in MX to go to for a DS - that is Dr. Ungson. I think he is somewhere between 14-16k.

Dr. Marchesini, who has a large following, too, is in Brazil and is about 11-12k.

If I had to choose one, I'd choose Dr. M.

I have a tentative date with Dr. Pompa in Tj. The lap DS is $13K.  I find Dr. U too expensive. He charges $16K for a Lap DS and that doesn't even include hotel or pain meds.  Iam sure he is a fine doctor based on all the referrals he gets on this site, but I am more than comfortable wwith Dr. Pompa. You can see 12 pages (last time I checked)  worth of referrals on her webpage under "find a surgeon" above.

Are you searching for yourself??  Are you set for RNY in June 2009?  I tried to get information about the DS from Dr. Pompa, but she said a didn't qualify with BMI 33 :(
