Sleeve cost in Mexico

I am currently on the track to set my date with Dr Joya in Puerto Vallarta to have my sleeve done. It will cost me $10,500 -- that includes air and hotel and all hospital fees and tests. Another plus to him is that I get to recover right on the beach and I have been to PV and love it...

I have heard that othger places are cheaper... I am wondering what is the $ comparison to other doctors in Mexico and what is included in other prices. I would call all of them but I thought it would be easier to ask here...

Hi sister-

I used Dr Alvarez.  He is running a special for $9750 I think.  No air, but hotel included.
I love him-  I email him all the time on his blackberry and he emails me right back in just a few minutes....I will forfit a beach for that service anytime....and believe me -  its nice to have him right there day or night.

But-  I have not really heard anything bad about the others eithers...just dont know from experience.

I chose to go through Dr Pompa/ Dr Lopez in Tijuana.  Was a little turned off at the idea of going to Tijuana but really, after all is said and done, it was no big deal.  I didnt even leave the clinic, except to walk through their connection atrium to the really really nice hotel right next door.  She was running a special if I booked within January so I did and booked for Feb 13.  Her special was $8000.  That did not include airfare but it did include the hotel.  One thing I did like about her was that if anything was to go wrong, while I was there, there was no outta pocket expense.  And if you book far enough out, you can find plane tickets for under 500, sometimes around 200.  I believe her regular price is $8500, but if you mention $8000, they just might do it.

HI am also wanting to get the vsg surgery done.  I have been researching different Dr's and cost too, but the more I look the more confused I become.  LOL

The cheapest I have found it is with ObesityGoodbye.com with Dr. Jaime Ponce de Leon & Dr. Sergio Verboonen.

Now I just need to find out more about them and their experience with this type surgery.

With this economy like it is, we all need to save every penny, so I will keep looking and make sure I get  the BEST DR. and with the best price.

My sleeve was $9,500 with Dr. Alberto Aceves in Mexicali, that's in Baha mexico, I drove to san diego airport and was picked up by the hospital's shuttle, we drove to the hospital (which was sooo nice!) and stayed at a hotel for the first night before the surgery, and then all my recovery was at the hospital (3 nights), I liked that because I've heard that the sleeve is just a little more painfull than the band so I didn't like that whole idea of going back to the hotel for recovery, I wanted my pain meds!!! LOL!!

Dr. Aceves is a great dr! he knows a lot and from what he was telling me he has seen just about everything, also Jlo has a great point, you want to have someone to talk to after your surgery, dr. A's staff is great, you can pretty much reach them 24/7....take care Cali!

I had my sleee done in Tj, Mexico for $7,500 (all inclusive but the airfare) It was performed by Dr. Verboonen and dr. Ponce de leon, it was the best option for me both for the price of the package, and did my research and found they had done many procedures successfully. Good luck Cali!!!

Hi, well the only advice that I can give you is not alway's the cheaper is the better, there are very few Doctors that have had great sucess with the VSG, I had it last year with Dr. Aceves in mexicali, the best choice, Dr. Aceves is great and his staff, there are no words to describe how nice , clean and proffesional they are, the cost i think it is stil $9,500, and included everything except flights but for what it was worth...It was the best choice and plus mexicali is so peacefull, no violence, like TIjuana, to scary for me.... and the Dr.'s I feel are not enough prepared in Tijuana and some other doctors that I did some research on, but that's just my opinion.
