lapband revision, hucauz

I had a lapband done in 10-2006, by Dr. huacuz, im now seriously considering a revision to a VSG with him, what do you guys think. I need help, i never heard anything bad about him when I had my Lapband and i ha a good experience with him and his staff, but it seems there is a lot of negative stuff now. Please help ((scared!!!))

It takes a lot more skill to do a sleeve than a band.  Ask around on the sleeve board and you will get a lot of information.

KCFatty is right, it takes a more skilled surgeon to perform a gastric sleeve, I went with Dr. Ponce de leon in Tijuana Mx to have my gastric sleeve procedure and the experience was wonderful.  He is very experienced and has a great team. Good Luck!

Everyone that I've heard of who has gotten their band removed - all of their surgeons told them that they have a lot of scar tissue around the band.  Sometimes scar tissue formation adheres to health tissue, which makes things basically stuck together - hard to separate, though not impossible.  Even if you don't have adhesion, getting a sleeve means that the dr has to cut through the scar tissue caused by the band, which can be very difficult to do.  All revisions are more challenging/difficult, so you really do want to go to someone who is experienced in doing the sleeve as a revision to be safest.  I know Ungson in Hermosillo has done at least 300 sleeves & I would guess that he's also done revisions, but am not sure.  His assistant, Luz, speaks awesome English.  His # is incorrect on OH.  It's 011 + 52 + (662) 217-5666.
