Hi.. I'm new to the site. I've been lurking around for a few days now and finally decided to post.

I started looking into WLS about a month ago. Initially, I thought I was going to get the band but after all of my research, I decided to go with the sleeve. I have individual insurance that does not pay for any WLS, so I am a self-pay. I decided to go with Dr. Aceves in Mexicali last week and finally contacted his office yesterday. I had no idea when I got into work this morning that I would have an email with my surgery date waiting for me. My surgery is scheduled for Dec 28th. I'm excited for now.... but I know as the date approaches I will be a little nervous.

It encourages me to read your post op success and/or experiences.

I decided to start on a pre-op low carb diet to help me lose as much weight as possible prior to surgery. I will keep you posted on my progress.

Congratulations on your date! I have heard nothing but good about Dr Aceves and you are going to love your sleeve. You have the right idea to start changing your eating habits pre op- it will make post op a little easier.
