Packing list
So you did it! You've made the date to have WLS in Mexico! CONGRATULATIONS!! You will not regret your decision!
Now....what do I take!!!????
I have created a list (I'm a list person ;0) of what I took to Puerto Vallarta last September and updated it when I got back with things I wish I had brought.
My BFF leaves for lap RNY with Dr. Joya TOMORROW!!! Her name is Gab, aka: Angilfires on OH.
Please keep her in your thoughts and prayers. I will be her angel and update you on her progress while in Mexico.
Below is the list I came up with. PM me at [email protected] if you would like a copy emailed to you.
Pack light! Use wheeled luggage Passports!!!!!! (don’t lose tourist papers that you receive on the plane. It makes for a HUGE hassle when trying to get home. Ask my hubby!) Drivers Licenses Batteries Camera Small pillow for tummy Pillows Blanket – was very comforting to have it from home along with the pillow small fan – I used this in the hospital alot, but I was there during their hottest & muggiest part of the year. Lrg bandaids for owies Broth packets from ramen? Broth (chicken & beef) Water bottles (water is available to buy) Juice powders (sf, crystal light) ALL chargers (phone, ipod, mp3, camera, laptop) Laptop, the Hospital has wireless internet - you just have to ask to have someone get it connected for you - the Hotel has an internet cafe - they charge you to use it Movies for your computer. Hospital has a TV but limited English channels
tolietries A few good books and/or magazines light PJs for the hotel swimsuit for sitting in the sun (although you have to be careful because antibotics and sun issues) one or two pairs of shorts/shirts good pair of walking shoes and sandals for the beach disposable spoons Bring lots of ones for tipping. You can use US dollars for almost all of your purchases so bring ca****'s cheaper than credit cards where you'll get exchange fees - plus many of the merchants will charge less if you pay with cash. NEVER pay full price for anything - always negotiate. I drank bottled water while there and apple juice and had no problems. The hotel has chicken soup - but you have to make sure you ask for JUST the broth otherwise it comes with rice and other stuff in it. You can pack your own broth packets if you like - it will be cheaper.
There are honor bars in your rooms…little fridges. At least in our room after we upgraded to an ocean view room. I took a few things out and put my stuff in to keep cold and then replaced them when we left. Walmart is a short cab ride away and has lots of things you can drink and jello.
