Dr. Lopez Corvala - Tijuana, Mexico - WLS Patient died during surgery

I'm not sure if people know of this surgeon or have any more info? A patient from Canada, a well known person on her home province board, died while in surgery only a few days ago. She was a widow that leaves behind a very scared, bitter, teenage daughter who didn't want her mother to have the surgery in the first place.
