Frequent Flyers ??

I am needing to know how to pack my CPAP for the airplane ride? Does anyone know how you would pack medical equipment? Im so afraid that it will get damaged in the cargo area....if they just picked it up and tossed it...it would break... Since Ive never flown before...Im clueless and really concerned about it. Any ideas?
