Strictures... anyone?

I'm getting concerned about strictures. I hear that they're common. Not really sure if I understand the cause of them. My question is this: Has anyone SOTB experienced them? What did they do? Did insurance pay for the repair?  Any stories highly appreciated.

I haven't had any strictures...or any other problems yet. You can ask your surgeon about how many of their patients end up with strictures though. I've heard of some people doing that when they were concerned. From what I understand strictures are scar tissue growth around the stoma (the opening where the stomach empties into the intestine). It's easily fixed with endoscopy procedures.

So far everything is working well with me. I have not even got sick. Very Happy. Laura
