Follow up on sister-in-law, she is still doing great with her diabeties. Her weight loss has slowed down, which is most likly due to emotional issues than "band" issues.  Just wanted you diabetic people to hear some good news.

I never recieved followup from Dr. Joya after three tries post surgery to find out why I recieved the large band instead of the standard band.  I was 235 pounds roughly at the date of the surgery. I am a pear shaped person, not an apple. Most people who are my weight (under 40 bmi) and body frame recieve the standard band. So as of right now, it remains a mystery as to why Dr. Joya placed the larger band in me.
