I've been looking at some of the docs in Mexico and a few have the caveat to be preapred to pay for complications - has anyone had complications? If so, what, how much did it cost? and would you still go to Mexico again? Thanks!

No complications but I remember Dr. Aguirre saying that if he needed to remove my gallbladder that it would be an additional day in the hospital and that I would pay that only (around $350) no other fee. A friend who had surgery a few days before had some breathing issues and Dr. A felt it best to keep him an extra day. ~Michelle

I had a major complication, but not at the time of the initial surgery. I ended up returning to Mexico, and Dr. Aguirre fixed the problem surgically on a Saturday free of charge on his part. I had to pay for the hospital stay, but that was it. Traci

Does he expect you to pay for the extra hospital stay immediately?

I had no complications, but one of the others from the states that was there at the same time did. It ended up being an ulcer. Joya went in and fixed it and she was great. I don't think he charged her, but if he did it was not much. My only regret is not doing it 5 years earlier. The entire experience was excellent. Good luck. JP
