I'm officially on the losing side!!

I had gastric bypass surgery with Dr. Joya yesterday! He said everything was "textbook." You guys were right, this hospital is beautiful and everyone is so nice. Our hotel room at the Krystal resort was beautiful too. I was up and walking around 2 hours after I got to my room and I've walked up and down the halls 6 times so far. I'm still having a lot of stomach pain from the gas, but I'm so excited! I'm sitting in the hospital room now, watching Oprah and chatting with my friends online while my mom and her best friend (a nurse who came for support) are out getting some breakfast. How awesome is this? Thanks everyone so much for your support and I definitely feel like I made the right decision. Things couldn't have gone better. Watch out size 8, here I come!

I'm so glad everything went well. I am leaving Nov 5th to have RNY Nov 6th with Dr. Joya. I am going alone and was wondering did you take your laptop with you? If you did, did you have wireless internet? I am taking phone cards to be able to talk to my husband but other family members were wanting emails from me. I'm really excited about the surgery but still am trying to figure out the post-op diet because we had already bought & paid for a vacation to Cabo before I scheduled surgery, so we're headed to Cabo Nov 27th for 2 weeks. Our new daughter in law & son are going with us and she's an RN so that makes everyone feel better. Can't wait to start this new journey. This is my 50th birthday present to myself. I want to be around to see my grandbaby grow up. Debby
