Good Choice for Us!

Hello everyone! I wanted to update on here a little bit....Jeff and I were pretty set on either Dr. Rubaut or Dr. Aguirre to do his RNY. A LOT has happened in the last month, and we wound up seeing Dr. Pleatman in Michigan. He did Jeff's surgery on Thursday, and everything went smoothly. We saw him for several reasons, and he is a wonderful doctor. He is direct and no bullsh**, which I very much appreciate. He was very kind, and is extremely experienced, in Lap surgery especially. If Mexico is not an option for any of you, or you can't get there, I would highly recommend him. I pasted a link to his site below. His cash pay prices (with travel and lodging from Oregon to Michigan for us) were under $13,000. I am not intending to change anyones mind, but once our insurance denied us, I never gave the states a second thought, I went looking directly to Mexico. Thanks, Bridget! Jeff and I were initially considering having surgery at the same time like you and your husband did. Now, taking care of him, even though he's been a wonderful patient, I can't imagine both being down at the same time. My hat is off to both of you. Kim...that's great info. I didn't know ANY doc in the US charged that little. Dr. Aguirre is fabulous, but I wouldn't recommend traveling for surgery if it's not completely necessary. It's hard to fly after surgery AND it's very hard to get good aftercare having had it done in Mexico... nobody around my area wants to deal with someone else's patient! I'm glad everything went well with Jeff!!! Take care. Traci
