I can't believe this...........
Wow! So much has happened in the past year. I know that I kinda lost touch with a lot of you, but I think about you often. Especially the ones that were going through this thing at the same time as I was......... I want to give you all a quick update though. My surgery was March 4, 2005 with Dr. A in Mexico. My highest weight was 280, but I was 270 the night before surgery. I have gotten rid of my diabetes, high blood pressure, sleep apnea, high cholestrol, and a host of other co-morbidites. But years of obesity had done their damage to my heart already. On May 3, 2006 I had to have a pacemaker. I know without a doubt that if I still weighed 270, I would not have made it! I am very grateful to God for this surgery, for Dr. A performing it at a reasonable price for those of us that insurance denies, the support of this site and others like it, and for all the encouragement of other post ops that gave me the courage to go through with it. I now weigh 135 and feel great! When I asked about the size of the lump where the pacemaker was implanted, I was told that us skinny people didn't have enough fat to cushion it! Me? Skinny! Anyway, I will be trying to update my profile with pics very soon. Can anyone send me directions on how to do that myself? Someone posted directions before and I printed them out. But since then I have moved and cannot find them! CAN ANYONE HELP ME OUT?
