Anyone choose btwn Dr. Kuri or Dr. Ariel Ortiz for lapband?

Hi All I'm in the review and analyze part of this journey, trying to make a selection between Dr Kuri and Oritz and I think one other who does the lapband in Tijuana, Mexico. I'm wondering if anyone else out there had to make the choice, what their choice was and why as well as the outcome (were you happy). It's a tough choice because they have both done so many operations, I'm sort of leaning towards one because of the nice new facility there. I want to do it in TJ because my folks live in San Diego so I could stay there a recover for a bit and they could help my hubby with my kids as well. Thanks!

My twin sister and I were banded by Dr. Kuri in Dec. 2003. We ened up making our decision based on all the research that we did and we are more than pleased with our choice. In the end Dr. Kuri has taken wonderful care of both of us for the past 2.5 years or so. This will be a hard choice for you to make since Dr. Ortiz is also a very respected Doctor. Hi Jamie, I am having my surgery with Dr. Ortiz on June 28th. In my opinion, he is the most qualified surgeon in TJ. I live only about 1 1/2 hours to the border so I went down and interviewed a few. I won't mention who I didn't pick so that I don't start a war but I will say both the office and staff professionalism stood out compared to the other docs I visited.
