I have a date!

After fighting with my insurance company for over two years, I let them win! I'm going to Dr. Joya in Puerto Vallarta and having RNY on July 3, 2006. I'm anxious but also very excited. I'd love to hear from any of Dr. Joya's patients to hear about their adventures!

I had lapband with Dr. Joya March 17th and everything went great. The staff is excellent and Puerto Vallarta is a great place to recover. Actually, I will be in Puerto Vallarta on vacation when you have your surgery, so if you need anything let me know.Good luck on your surgery! -Michelle

After reading your profile I realized we've corresponded before! I have BCBS of Il also. As you can see, they won! I gave up and am paying myself. I gave them 18 months of medically supervised diet records from my internist and their reply was that his records were not "detailed" enough. That was the last straw! I did get the pleasure of telling them what I thought, but they don't care!
