Back in Habit!!!
I'm post opp, had surgery Oct 4, 05 and Was drinking alot prior to surgery, bout 24 beeer a day. Stopped drinking about a week post surgery. Did good after surgery also, until about Late Oct. It started with a couple beer over a few hours and getting quite buzzed. To now drinking 8 to 12 beer in only 2 to 3 hours. I don't get sick, I don't bloat up, and that scares me. I am drinking like i used to..Not sure why i went back to do ing this, but the surgery sure feels like a freal waste of time now..
As well as my eating habbits, I have an iron pouch, don't matter what i have tried to eat it stays, no dumping, no sickness at all..even with sugar..That scares me..Anyway enough of me whining about my oh so poor me life..

Ditto. Did you read my post? Make sure you read that article. It will explain a lot. Post op it's so, so eay to fall into drinking. First, drinking is easier than eating. I have a cast iron stomach, too, so I don't mean that way. I mean in terms of having to watch what types of foods you eat, how much, when, yadda yadda, yadda. With drinking, you just do it until you pass out- no measuring there, for sure!
Also, being on a restricted lifestyle, losing weight is STRESSFUL. We place such high expectations on ourselves and, due to past experiences, are terrified of failure. We no longer have food as a solace, so we turn to alcohol to relieve the pressure.
Any of this sound familiar?
Let's stick together. Two alcoholics makes a group, and I know there are more out there. We can do together what we can not do alone.
Believe it. I do. I have to.

I am also an ex-addict not alcohol but i know what it feels like
to mess up just pick yourself up and say today I am not going to
drink and I am going to loose weight. Prayer also helps alot.
