Hi.... I also was a victim of child sexual abuse form the time I was 7 until 9, by my friend's father, as well as my step father. I don't know how much that has influenced my weight, but I have always been overweight. The 2 perps were unaware of what the other was doing. Mt step father was also verbally/physically abusive. Hi Tanya, In my experience it is very very common for sexual abuse survivors to put on weight. It is common for them to be MO. I know that I did subconciously do get out of being a victim of CP (child *****graphy) Do you see a therapist? I have one now who is helping me suceed when I have surgery by seperating food from emotions. Its a thin line. Also she is helping with body image and allowing the body to become thin and feel safe without the wall of fat to protect me. Welcome to the board Donna preop

I too was a victim of incest, it was my brother, he's 10 yrs older than I am, I was 5 when it started and 11 when i finely got the courage to tell my father what was happening, he kicked my brother out, I know my weight is related to the abuse, its what I hide behind, but at 43, I am learning to live again and am ready to shed the weight, my hubby of almost 5 years is helping me deal with alot of problems, he has changed my life so much Bonnie
