Checking In
Hi Everyone,
So good to see some new faces here. My life has been pretty insane lately. Pain in my hips and back has been increasing rapidly, and I am really struggling, because I had two episodes of drinking to get rid of it. The miracle of that is I was repulsed after a glass each time. I went back into treatment , outpatient, on my own this time.
In the past week, I made the decision to move to a smaller place, and it will take place the day after Christmas. I have done lost my mind. I am hosting Christmas brunch here with all of my family, and my kids from out of town, including the munchkins. My kids will help me move, but I am trying to get packed, and it is challenging, because I am moving to a smaller place, so I must either give away, or store stuff I am not going to fit into my new place.
For my chronic pain, we have tried various meds. My doc does not want to give me narcotics because of my alcoholism. I can't take the NSAIDS because of my surgery and ulcers. So, he has referred me to a pain specialist and rheumatologist.
In the meantime, I am attending my AA meetings and talking to my sponsor on a regular basis.
Hugs,
Trish

Hi Trish,
Its good to hear from you. I wish you well in your new place. I hate moving. I'm sorry you had a little slip but completely understand the pain thing. Pain is a horrible thing, especially when you are limited on the kind of meds you can take. Since we can't take NSAIDS, what about a pain patch? Just asking.
Good luck to you. Keep active in AA, they're there to help and guide us.

Hi Kathy,
I am sticking with AA. I am just tired and discouraged by my chronic relapsing.
Went to a 7:00 a.m. meeting this morning. Fantastic speaker.
