Hello friends!

It's been ages since I've posted for myself, (though I am still reading and replying to others), I just wanted to wish everyone a Happy New Year.

I'm so grateful that I don't deal with being out on the roads drunk/drinking on this night anymore. Each day of sobriety I add to my tally is a wonderful thing! Tomorrow is my 22nd anniversary!!! I'm so thankful to God for seeing me through this!!

I almost succumbed to the sexual addiction again, but stopped it before it started and plan on devoting more time and energy to God, my husband, my religious classes, baking for ppl at work and stained glass. (I'm WAY overdue for that one) LOL...

I've managed to eat horribly for weeks now, blaming it on the holidays...who's fooling who? I made rotten choices and tonight that is stopping. NYE seems to be the ONE night I do really well quitting things. 22 years ago this night I stopped drinking...21 yrs ago I stopped smoking, and tonight I stop making bad choices and start putting my health in the drivers seat again. My game plan is a mile on the dreadmill to start (I've slacked wicked bad on exercise again) and enough protein AND re-adding water back into my life. :)

I hope everyone has a safe, sober, healthy and happy new years eve, and a prosperous, joyous, adventurous 2009!!  I'm looking forward to mine!! Hugs and best wishes to everyone!!

Marie

Good Morning Marie,
Happy New Year!!!!!  I am right there with you about making better choices this year.  The food has to get in control starting today.  I am going to spend some time on the bike each day, and I must stop the sugar.  I found my dumping limit and keep nibbling on sugar.

Today has my family coming over to watch the Rose Bowl.  Penn State is playing USC, and we are big Lions fans.  I also have to get to an AA meeting.  It has been two days since I made one, and I am squirrlly as Hell today.

Have a terrific day, and a wonderful new year.

Hugs,
Trish

Hiya girlfriend!!

I'm already looking for available excuses to NOT keep my resolution...tha'ts my bad habits talking. I plan to walk right through my cramps from eating badly last night and get on the dreadmill. I used almost TEN units of insulin to get me through my binge. It's all about self-respect for me and it's high time I had some of that!  :)

Enjoy that bike!!

Hugs,
Marie

Self-respect?  What is that?  I have more respect for other people who treat me poorly than I do for myself.  When you figure out what self-respect is, and how to get it, let me know.

I am already trying to figure out how to find my way to an AA meeting today.  Excuses are at the top of my list of things to do today.  Cooking, cleaning, making phone calls, etc.  Those are in my To Do list.

Have to get in the shower, so I can decrudify myself.

Huggles,
Trish

So tell me chickie, did you manage getting to a meeting? I baked cookies for the nurses taking care of my elderly aunt AND the vultures I work with. I made a quiche which didn't come out right and got dumped and later I'll make homemade macaroni and cheese. I'm suddenly exhausted and need a nap! I think I'll drink more water and do a mile on the mill.

Hugs,
Marie

Yes, I did make a meeting.  I went to a clubhouse and it was packed.  They also had food out for people who wanted to hang out over the holiday.  They read Step One out of the 12 & 12.  It was a good meeting.

I am just bummed that my teams did not win yesterday.  I was rooting for Michigan State because my daughter went there, and Penn State because I love that team, especially Coach Paterno.

Hugs,
Trish

Glad you made it there, chickie...but sorry bout your teams.  The Pats bit the dust early this year... so now I'm jonesin' BIG time for Spring Training. And if we don't resign Varitek I'll be in full throttle mourning for awhile!! LOL... well, I'm off to hit the dreadmill for another mile or more!

Hugs,
Marie

Speaking of 12-step programs, does anyone know if there is such as thing as an Internet 12-step program for either AA or NA?
I live in the country and it is very hard for me to get to town on a regular basis due to school. (I still have classes - as I am in an on-line LCDC program). I know AOL used to have a Bill W. chat group, but don't have AOL anymore.
Have a sober and healthy 2009 all.

Hi!! If you go to aa.org there are a lot of links on the site. I *think* but am not positive that there was an online group or chat at one point. There might be one in your state if you check that link too. I did my mile today that I promised myself and feel good for taking and completing that small step. One day at a time!! :)

Hugs and have a healthy happy 09!!

Marie

I participate in a Yahoo group that has blogs like this forum.  It is a good group of AAs.
