Addicted to Sugar
For as long as i can remember i have been addicted to sugar. When I was young i remember sitting at the kitchen table downing a half of cup of sugar from the sugar bowl with no problem. My sister an brother would refill the sugar bowl to keep me out of trouble. As i got older a uncle worked for a soda pop factory we would get lots of free soda pop. Since then sodaypop has been my sugar of choice. Diet soda gives me migranes. Chromium picolinate has given me a little relief , it has curbed the sugar cravings. does anyone know of any other treatments?
I wrote a terrific reply over the weekend and the stupid website ate up my post and destroyed it. It kept telling me to log in.
Anyway, I am a sugar addict. I had to give up carbonated beverages post-op because of the RNY. It is recommended that RNY patients not have any soda for at least six months post-op, and then limit it. Now, I don't like how it feels, so I rarely drink it.
Anywho, I have no trouble with Splenda, so I brew my own iced tea and make it by the gallon. The usual sweetener in diet sodas is Aspartame, which is nasty stuff. Hence my beverage of choice is my homebrewed iced tea.
As for the rest of my diet, I dump if I eat sugar now, so, I don't eat it, or if I cheat, it is just a nibble, because any more than that and I am one sick pup.
Have you had your surgery yet? If so, what kind did you have?

Seek always to do some good, somewhere. Every man has to seek in his own way to realize his true worth. You must give some time to your fellow man. For remember, you don't live in a world all your own. Your brothers are here too.
