Keeping it on the up and up... I didn't go to the meeting. I should have.. but no excuses.. I just didn't.  I came home and put my jammies on and got online.  I'm now getting ready to take pics to list stuff on ebay.   Hope others had a wonderful day tho.. and made their meeting

Honesty time for me too...I was in a lot of pain at 5:30, after all the running around I did today, and I crashed on my sofa for the evening.  To make things worse, I baked cookies, after eating everything that was not nailed down. I should have journaled, or prayed, or done my other coping skills, but instead, I ate.  UGH. I have to get back on track with my food. Friday has me going to my therapist's, and hopefully, I will get a handle on things. Hugs, Trish

So far today has been crazy.  I took my brother, who is crippled temporarily, to physical therapy and a doctor appointment.  Then, I took a nap.  Now, I am heading to an appointment myself.  I will commit to a 7:00 Big Book study that I like. Hugs, Trish

I Am! Btw How important is getting a sponsor fast.  I really haven't clicked with anyone yet.  Also, Can you have a sponsor of the opposite sex? (I'm 46, married with young kids, and the lady I was thinking about appears to be in her early 60's; so it's not like any love connection type gunk.)

It is important to get a sponsor of your gender no matter what. As secure as your marriage is, sponsorship sometimes involves getting together to do step work, and that could cause some jealousy on your wife's part, regardless of the age difference.    Just keep going to meetings and pray to find someone who you can connect with.  Listen for a person who has recovery you want, and that you can relate to.  For example, my current sponsor also goes to OA, as I used to as well.  I can talk to her about my overall recovery, not just alcohol, as she can relate and understands how important it is for me to be careful with my food.   Until you find someone you can connect with, ask someone to be your temporary sponsor, just to make phone calls to each day to hold yourself accountable to getting to meetings, and working the steps.
