Weird Wow

This is going to sound really, really strange.  I was at my future daughter-in-law's bridal shower last night.  The dessert was a Midnight Madness chocolate ice cream cake from Cold Stone Creamery, which looked absolutely decadent.  I thought it should have been called Death by Chocolate, that is how good it looked.  The WOW is that I was not tempted in the least to try it, and I did not feel sorry for myself for not being able to eat it.  I had no desire to try it.   A year ago, I was doing the "Last Supper" stuff getting hot fudge sundaes like they were going out of style, as I prepared for my surgery at the end of August.  Today, I have no desire to have it.  I believe that freedom from obsession is a gift from God.  I just had to share it with you. Hugs, Trish

I thank God that I learned by accident just how sick I get when I eat something too sweet, now that I have had the surgery.  One day, I ordered a McGriddle sandwich at McDonald's.  I had no clue they had maple syrup in them.  I ate one and got so sick I wanted to puke.  I never want to feel that bad again.  When I see sugary things, I remember that feeling vividly.   Thanks for the support. Hugs, Trish

Im right there with ya Rhonda!  Sometimes I feel like I got gypped...I can eat ANYTHING now and never get sick...just always have to fight the food addictions...even with  re-arranged intestines!  Oh well, life goes on...take care  deb

How awesome for you Trish!!  That whole concept just amazes me. Pre surgery I was  a coffee-holic and now I could care less. Haven't had any yet. I'm not sure how the temperature would hit me. So for now, i'll just leave it be.  My blood sugar has cxrashed a few times and the juice hurts!  That freedom from obsession feeling IS a gift!!  I haven't been hungry in over a week now! Marie
