I had Gastric Bypass Oct 2004. I lost all the weight I wanted to lose and have done well. Excpet - I got divorced from my husband of 10 years and started dating a man who drank beer daily. On the weekends we would drink liquer and I became dependant. I recently found out that I was pregnant and he bailed. All I want to do is cry and drinkn until I pass out. I know its not right for the baby but I do not know how else to control these raging hormones. I cry all the time and cannot sleep. I cannot keep my mind on anything.  I have to force myself to keep driving past the liquer store. I want a happy baby but I really need some ideas on how to cope.

Good for you for not wanting to drink while you are pregnant.  Fetal Alcohol Syndrome is not pretty, and the kids really suffer for it.  You are going to feel a lot of crazy emotions for a little while.  You can learn to live without the alcohol.  It may be difficult and challenging, BUT it is not impossible.   Call Alcoholics Anonymous or go to the website.  There you will meet men and women who totally understand how you feel.  Get with the women and get phone numbers and ask them for help in stopping.   Also, ask your doctor for a referral to a therapist who can also give you some help.   Hugs, Trish

Seek always to do some good, somewhere. Every man has to seek in his own way to realize his true worth. You must give some time to your fellow man. For remember, you don't live in a world all your own. Your brothers are here too.
