Done with the chaos.  Done with the drinking.  Done with the guilt.  I know it will be hard, but I must do this.  For me, my kids, my husband and my sanity.  D/H said he is gone if I don't.  i dont like ultimatums, but I needed this one.  So be warned, I will be here a lot posting my progress....and asking for support.  This forum is a God-send, if you ask me.  Thanks for listening, Lori

Good luck to you...and big hugs, warmth, and understanding.  This is not easy to do, and I hope you find some real people to help you with this.  On line support can only do so much.

And please do this for yourself first.  Then for your family.  I had a hard, hard time with this, and I fell down over and over again before I got it right.

Don't give up.   The freedom from addiction is the best high of all. I hope you go to your doctor about this...It could be dangerous to just quit.  You may need medical assistant to detox.

Congratulations Lori!! I'm glad in your reasons for doing this YOU came first. If you don't take care of you, you can't be there for the rest of your family. My rock bottom moment was my sister telling me she didn't want my then 3 y.o. to be afraid to bring friends home from school because "her mother's a drunk". Boy that was an A-HA moment if there ever was one!  More power to you! Find a meeting and a sponsor and start to LIVE!! Marie (and I'm here for you!)

Lori, I am so proud that you want to do this for you.  Remember how when you fly the attendant always tells you that in case of an emergency put your air mask on first and then help others. Well that is what you are doing Lori. You are putting your LIFE MASK on and then YOU will be there for the precious children you adore, the husband you committed your life to and all of the other people who treasure you in return.  We all have issues, but you have made the point of addressing yours and that is the first place to start. Iam proud of you, you can do this! Not only is this forum a God-send, but you are one for your beloved family. Kim M.
