Finally got a meeting in today

Thank God I got my driving privileges back today. Yippeeeeee. I went to a noon meeting about a mile from me. The place was packed. There were a bunch of newcomers from a recovery house that really made me grateful I almost have 5 years of sobriety. We read part of the chapter from the Big Book to the Agnostics. I shared how I cannot stay sane without my concious contact with my God. There was a guy there who was sharing how he was taking care of his three nieces and nephews because both their parents are in prison on drug related offenses. He was looking for food and social services. Made me grateful. I am still weak physically, but I am walking, getting my protein and fluid in, and working my program. Hugs, Trish

Odd how when things are taken away (driving), how much we take forgranted.. So glad you were able to make it to a meeting. Keep up the great job on your surgery recovery... Sounds like things are going a-ok.. healing Hugs to You.. Dana
