Going into INPATIENT TX

It's settled, I've had a CD assessment and was recommended inpatient! Wasn't surprised as honestly deep in my heart that's what I know I NEED! Everything is happening so fast, very overwhelmed, lots of hoops have already been jumped for insur ect! I'm just waiting for Hazeltens medical director to review my records sent, and then I'll get a date to be admitted! Sounds like late this week/early next week! Wed. I have an appt to see my primary doc, to get a written note to bring to my employer stating I need to take a medical leave. I'm so scared/ashamed...I'm dreading telling her! Just started this job one month ago, area of nursing I've always wanted to get into ect, and don't want to lose out on this opportunity! However, it is mandatory that all new employees are put on a provisional 6 month probation period where as they can let you go within that time. I'm afraid of being fired for taking a good month off, I've already called and spoke to a union rep and was basically told to "beg & plea" to keep my job as they couldn't protect me!!! So yah, stressin over that, stressin cuz I have to do this/be away from my kids...haven't told them yet (9 & 5 yrs) going to shortly before I have to go! Worried about what to say to coworkers when I come back, that is if I still have a job & paranoid that I'll always feel like I'm under a microscope with my boss as she'll know the truth! wish me luck, big hugs daisy

Good luck Daisy! You've taken what was probably the most difficult part of the process for me - asking for help - that's a HUGE step forward. You can worry about your job, co-workers, boss, etc. when you get back out of rehab - for now just put one foot in front of the other and keep moving forward. You deserve a better life! Steve

Daisy, Congrat girl! You have taken the big step. I have been a nurse for 28 yr. They will always need you as a nurse. It will be okay. Thank your lucky stars you are not being legally made to go to keep your license! Healer help yourself that is the best! There are lots of medical professionals in my 12 step group and they are all employed so really you can put that fear aside for now and just do what ya gotta do. I am so proud of you! Laurie
