Cold and rainy today. Out of the teens from a few days ago to the upper 40's to 50's in the next few days. Good days to pick up dog crap before it snows again :-) Nothing planned for today, and that's OK.

Ah, finally a small thaw out here with sun and temp****ting near 50. A far cry from last week when areas north of us got hit with over 5' of snow. This will be a good day to turn off and drain the outdoor water lines and cover some patio furniture. Then out with some friends to watch the Browns Steelers game on TV.

Managed Thanksgiving well. Even with bringing some leftovers home.
Cajun sounds SO good! I love dirty rice, even though it comes from a Zataran's box. I'm gonna put it on the grocery list for this week!
We went to a tailgate party (indoors) and there were some very happy Michigan fans there by the end of the game. All was good and no flag planting in their living room.

Had our first snow Thursday evening as the Browns won against the steelers. It was a great feeling since they were so ****y.
Friday got together with my brother and sisters foe "siblings" day. Went across town to ou favorite Slovenian butcher shop and bought keilbasa, Then off to the West Side Market. It is a well known landmark in Cleveland, hit a few more places then a late lunch. We try and do this several times a year. Got started near the end of the pandemic while visiting our parents at their nursing home. After they passed we decided to carry it on in their memeory. Perfect timing as I just canned 41 lbs of home made sauerkraut. I wil keep for about a year fresh in the refrigerator. I have a small frij in the basement just for kraut (that it all didn't fit in this time) Trying to keep alive some old traditions and foods from our parents/grandparents.

Last weeks mini vacation and my neices wedding last night made for a little ding on the scale this morning. Should be back on routine this week after relative leave Tuesday.
Don, I don't blame you. You are retired and you don't need to take any crap. Since you came from LE, finding something else, if you choose to, should be fairly easy. My buddy got hired at the local library as non uniformed security. The librarians (all female) are happy to have him around. It's cut down a lot on youth troubles and a few creeps.
I'm fortunate to be only three days a week and am left pretty much on my own.

Destin FLA has been a nice break. Absolutely nothing planned, just doing what sounds interesting. One more day, anyone have a must do?

Cool weather so no yardwork needed this week. I'd gladly trade it for this wallpaper removal! It's a mindless messy task. We got a little over one wall done yesterday, and now this morning it looks like it will still need some scrubbing. I hired someone to do the drywall work and paint. Then next is remove carpeting and put in a laminate floor. This is one of the reasons I went back to work part time. So I could do what I'm good at, and I can pay someone to do what they are good at.

Stripping wallpaper is not going well. I'm going to have to hire someone who can fix the drywall, and paint. I got a feeling this is going to be a long process.

A pretty good week. (weight gain from salt in sausage and sauerkraut I believe) Got yard work done on Friday and had a free weekend. Went to a EuropeanFest that was nice. I love all the different festivals. Good time to try different cuisines. Neighbors relatives came in from Canada, always good food a company....take off, eh! :-)

Oh, and Browns suck :-) But we will always support them.
Browns lost, again, and I didn't win anything on the side boards. But the clams and steak anc ompany was great!

Finally got the lawn mowed on Friday. It felt good to be out in the sun and nice weather. We began the crappy job of stripping walpaper in our tv room and kitchen. Not going so well, as some of the drywall is getting damaged in the process. I am going to hire someone to repair it and paint. That was one of the reasons to take on a part time job. I will do something I like to do and am good at, so I can hire someone to do the same.
Going to a clam bake/fundraiser to watch the Browns this afternoon. Maybe I'll win something on the sideboards. Maybe the Browns will win.

Nice day today. Went apple picking with the Mrs and brother and sister in law. It's been raining most of the week and the grass is growing again. Over two weeks since I cut and now it needs it. Remnants of Helene is giving us well needed rain.

Comfortable weather all week. No rain for over two weeks and no need for yardwork. Lots of eating out this week, I'm looking forward to good (and healthier) home dinners. One evening was to a Japanese Hibachi style resturaunt, and got a front row view of them cooking. They must have used 5 lbs of butter on the meals for seven of us! Delicious yes, but my arteries need a flush :-)

Good day or yardwork in yesterday. Ended up getting 22 pints of tomatoes suace from the tomatoes, and there isa lot more getting to be ripe. I'll be making salsa and bring tomatoes to work. Wife may about 18 half pints of grape jelly and still has more juice to process. I grew jalepenos annd some haberneros. Jalepenos I like, not sure what to do with the habeneros. I got most of these plants from a friend who likes to grow and always had a lot of seedlings left over. Nice summer hobby. Today the Mrs. and I are going on a two hour cruise on Lake Erie. It's a nice day so it should be a good way to spend a Sunday afternoon.

Cool temps (60's as the high) here this weekend. But a good weekend for harvest. Got about four 5 gallon buckets of grapes from our vine. Mrs is now processig to make jelly. Got about 25 pounds of tomatoes, and a lot more that arent ripe yet. I'll be trying my hand at canning, and bringing a lot of salsa to work.
Browns home opener today (I had to add something in for Don).

Been a nice week. Daughter was home and just hung out with us all week. Of course the parental ATM was working overtime :-)
Temps have been in the upper 60's to mid 70's all week. Very comfortable but unseasonalbe. I dreas having to winterise the pool.

I like your post, but not the time you have to be at work.
Tornado came through the area Tuesday afternoon (Cuyahoga County, Ohio) I was at work and it blew the door to my shop open. I hunkered down until it died down and went home to what looked like a war zone. Several neighbors had trees come down on their houses, thankfully no injuries. We just had a tree hit our shed with minimal damage .Still without power as I write this. My portable generator has been on since Tuesday evening, powering a freezer, refrigerator, TV, a fan, cell chargers, and two lights. Luckily the weather hasn't been that bad. I'm getting 12 - 20 hours out of each 20# tank of propane. The elctric company says we can expect power back by Wednesday night.

Just got back yesterday afternoon from moving my youngest daughter into her own apartment at college. Everywhere you go in the collegetown smells like skunk.
Don, again congrats on the new job. Yes the people you work for and with make or break the job. My old supervisor when I was a civil servant was the best. And fortunately he is still in the picture, as the boss of the (very few left) civil servants in my division. My contractor boss I've known from the day he was hired 35 years ago. I showed him around the facility. Maybe that's why he hired me :-)

Just got home late last night from a weeklong carribean cruise. Happy as a lark with no weight gain after being surrounded by food 24/7.
Started out last Friday with flight delayed and delayed again because of the worl wide computer crash. But we booked a hotel for one night earlier than the cruise just in case there were problems. We ened up checking in at midnight, but that was ok because a few hours prioe we got an notice from the cruise line that they had to delay the cruise (shorten the trip) by one day due to engine problems. The new intenerary cut out two shore excursion on us also. Sunday we are aboard. Big party on the main deck for a 5pm Bon Voyage. Music blasting, food, drink everywhere. I believe there was lots of skimpy well fitting bathng suiits, but I couldn't really see through my dark sunglasses
. Then at 5:00, music, food, dancing.....5:10, music, food, dancing....5:30, music, food, dancing.... Around 6:15 (18:15 for Don ) wife and I decided to go back to our room and wait on our balcony. After an hour of that we wandered arounf the ship, got something to eat and then went back to the room and watched TV. We set sail at 9:30 due to "technical difficulties". But all in all it was very relaxing. Saw some great sights and a few excursions.
I was very nervous about the food and eating. We only ate at the buffet because they had so much variety and you could get as little or as much as you wanted. I sampled just a little of things that interested me, but was never hungry. This was my first major vacation since my VSG in 2016. I'm looking forward to the next!
