Once again with the Cowboys going to Oxnard for the 2024 training camp - hope springs eternal once again!
Nice dip on scales. Working and not grazing at home all day is kicking in. I hope.

Welcome to the community, and thank you for sharing your story. It's courageous to take this step towards improving your health and quality of life.
I'm glad to hear you've done extensive research and spoken with friends who have undergone the vertical sleeve gastrectomy (VSG). It's important to be well-informed when making such a significant decision.
Your concerns are entirely normal. Many patients feel anxious before surgery, especially if they haven't had one before. Rest assured that VSG is a well-established procedure with a good safety profile when performed by experienced surgeons.
Regarding your specific concern about catheters - this is a common worry. However, they're typically inserted after you're under anesthesia and removed before you wake up. Most patients don't even realize they had one.
It's excellent that you've found a surgeon you feel comfortable with. A good doctor-patient relationship is crucial for a positive experience and outcome.
As you progress through your pre-surgery period, focus on developing healthy habits that will support your post-surgery success. This includes following your doctor's dietary guidelines, staying hydrated, and incorporating appropriate physical activity as advised.
Remember, VSG is a tool to help you achieve your weight loss goals. Your commitment to lifestyle changes will be key to long-term success.
If you have any specific medical questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to discuss them with your surgeon or healthcare team. They're best equipped to address your individual case.
I wish you the best on your journey. Keep us updated on your progress.

It's not the collar! New job called for trip to "cop shop" in Dallas yesterday chasing new duty belts. One holds your pants up and the other holds your gun etc to that one. Other one was 13 years old and it showed. Frankly I had every 1/4" of slack I had left from either end out and it was still too tight. Hate having to go to larger size but can't cut myself in half all day.
New job = exercise schedule out of whack. Run to grocery store then yard work when I get home.
Have a Great Week, Gentlemen!!

Congrats on the new job Don.
My week was typical but good. Exercise good, eating not as good, work was mediocre.
Have a great week guys!

Try as I might this morning I could not get scales to go lower.
This has not been a good week news wise. Handful of celebs from the 80's and 90's passed and the assassination attempt in PA. It could have a been a lot worse.
Went back to work Friday! Yes, it is a police job in yet another small town near here but Chief strikes me as being a good dude who knows his business. Won't be sworn in till tomorrow after I get back from a long-scheduled doctor appointment and City Hall is open. They are regularly closed on Fridays. Kidding Chief Friday that I am going "uptown" since they have TWO traffic lights! More importantly HEALTH INSURANCE after 60 days! Not paying for that out of pocket will be a fat "raise" in and of itself.
Managed to get some rower time in and yard work yesterday. Caught some sun too. Rosy cheeks and burnt feeling neck and nose.

We got some wind and an inch and a half of rain and that was it for us. Folks down in Houston, Galveston and SE TX took it the brunt of it. Apples to oranges but if Hurricane Ike was a 10 in terms of being a BAD, BAD storm - Beryl was a 3. Loss of life was minimal, although one death from a storm is one too many, flooding and power outages were not as widespread. HPD lost one of their civilian employees to high water yesterday because he ignored the "turn around, don't drown" message. Prayers for his friends and family. Because of his skill set he was considered "essential" and was trying to drive to work when he drove into high water.
It's hot as hell around me and spent the fourth getting a bad sunburn but had fun doing it, so no regrets.
Long as you had fun getting burnt!
