What's Father's Day without Maury?
Little up but attributing it to copious amounts of water I drank doing the yard work yesterday. Heat index was like 105-110. Despite the Banana Boat Sport SPF 50+ feeling little burnt this morning. Chief gone last week for school and more of the same for this week. Turning in paperwork for retirement this week. August 10th is the day. Wife will probably send me back after I'm home a month!

Good news about son. Maybe getting his head out of his ass and growing up.

Still been fighting the crud. It is slowly retreating and today we got a fair bit of rain so hopefully the air will be much cleaner (we've had a lot of haze and smoke even last week). Have 2 guys out on vacation the end of this week so I imagine work could get interesting.
Our son who's been out of contact with us for a few months dropped by a couple times this week. He seems to be doing well which is a relief.

A little step in the right direction. We are supposed to get some very needed rain today after 22 dry days. I haven't needed to cut the lawn in over a week. But still moving that pile of stump grindings one bucket at a time. I really hate shoveling, whether it be dirt, mulch, or show :-)

As wife puts it we didn't have weight loss surgery to still use "princess parking". I say I'm a good redneck - I hunt the shade to park in!
Eyes still wonky post second surgery but getting better. Had to ration antibiotic drops till yesterday when refill arrived.

Been fighting crud for the last 4-5 days, did nothing but rest and hydrate this weekend and seem to be on the way out I hope. Bad thing is everyone else in the house has caught it too and are a couple days behind me. Air quality here is really bad right now which doesn't help.
Plenty of firewood and appreciate it. If I cover the done eye I can't see the numbers on the AA battery operated clock across the office from my desk. Cover the undone eye and use the done eye I can see the numbers and minute marks on clock face. Even did some traffic stops wearing shades vs regular glasses. Don't recall EVER doing that in 30 years!

A busy and good week. Put down 60 bags of mulch, had a 100' pin oak taken down, yard work, and got the pool opened. No rain for the last two weeks and none in sight for a week. Grass hasn't really grown, but I may just cut it to neaten it up (and get some steps in). Don, good luck with the eye surgery.

Could be better. Rowing on track and I managed to get yard done yesterday. Allegedly we have rain coming today. We need it. Getting kind of dusty. Wednesday is cataract surgery on right eye. Wind up wasting the eyedrops because of using "spray and pray" method to get them in eyes. Okay with the OTC but the prescription one, I may not have enough for the two weeks post op I have to use it.
